Outreach is an important component of parish life at St. James. Outreach from our church consists of gifts of goods, money and time, given to both our community and to each other.

Monetary gifts of varying sizes have been given to area organizations such as the Woodstock Community  Food Shelf, the Upper Valley Haven, Shining Light Mentoring Project, Springfield Prison Ministry,  Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Episcopal Relief and Development among many others. Some money was used to help individuals through the Discretionary Fund for fuel and other emergency needs. A substantial amount was sent to organizations that help with home repairs and winterization. The St. James Scholarship Fund provided financial assistance to two of our own college students.

Members of St. James fill grocery bags for the Woodstock Food Shelf.

Parishioners support ongoing programs by bringing small toiletry items for the Upper Valley Haven's free shower program and food for the Woodstock Community Food Shelf.

The Outreach Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. and everyone is welcome to attend. The committee alos hosts monthly breakfasts to update parishioners on current projects and volunteer opportunities.

Proceeds from the St. James Fair support the Outreach Program.
